I'd expect a bloke to come out with that answer.

Yes, I was gonna say PMS myself

Don't do it that often for no reason, but before I sleep is the suspect time to get thinking of some really nasty stuff and just break down.. somewhat quietly anyway!

I ask myself that question whenever I get too upset about something that I shouldnt - I feel silly for over reacting.
However, I've come to the conclusion that our emotional reactions are our valid responses and we are allowed to feel them - no one can ever tell you that you aren't allowed to feel angry, sad, or hurt. What hurts you, or makes you angry, is a personal thing and no one else can judge it.
What matters is what action you then take:
a good reaction is to try and solve the problem (but not with violence!) in a constructive way that dosent hurt anyone... if someone has hurt you, talk to them rationally, take your anger out in a productive way like sport, or write about it until you feel calmer. Rant to a friend you trust.
Other than that, bad things to do are simply stew and let the problem happen again... you'll just get hurt time and time again. Another bad thing to do is to lash out and hurt others emotionally or physically.
The emotion is ok to feel - and the reason they happen is because we are human ... if we want to be able to feel love, we have to be able to feel pain too, but hopefully the ups will out number the downs.

Yep. I get that all the time. Sometimes I just think I must have the emotional sophistication of a rock (well, I'm male, so I'm the next best thing).

The only time in my life I think I've really bawled and haven't been able to stop myself was at my grandad's funeral. I spent the whole cermony not crying at all, and wondering why the hell not (coz I was obviously sad). As soon as the music came on at the end, I just couldn't stop for about half-an-hour.

Apart from that, I've never really cried in floods, despite what may have happened (I get watery eyes from time to time, but don't really cry).

my grandfather's in the hospital, his situation was pretty bad... I couldn't cry when I was first told, but when I heard he was doing better... I just started blubbering like a toddler

ps: the other thread's been closed so I can't post this there: THE MODS ARE CHEATING!!!

Sorry dude. I know how sh*tty it can be. My grandad was in and out of hospital for quite a few years before he died.

Me too! I cry all the time for no reason. Especially just lying in bed.

Also does anyone ever find that something really small will happen that normally wouldn't upset you, but for some reason you just start crying? And if someone asks why, you can't say because it was something so stupid you'd look really pathetic
