Like, it's migrated out of your skin??
I had mine pierced 5 years ago now, and I used to take a 12mm, now I'm more like a 6mm, but it hasn't grown out yet. When did you get yours done?

I think it's a few months. I would phone up the place you got it done and ask. How long did it take for it to grow out? I don't want mine 2!

Rub some oil/moisturiser over the scar once it's healed over to stop it permanently scarring. xx

Something to do with the body rejecting it I suppose.

How long do you have to wait before getting it repierced? I went to clean it this morning and the stud fell out in my hand!

Ick. I had a friend who had that happen with her eyebrow piercing. it has left a permenant scar from where it was.

well, you will butcher your bodies...

Yea umm...when i was 16 i did a realyl stupid thing and got my belly button pierced at some seedy tattoo parlor. it was great. anyways, im 19 now and took it out back in October cause i was sick of it....and it still hasnt closed up,... dunno why... anyone how long it usually takes to close up?

Reply 14

It depends how long you've had it done. You can get it repierced in as little as 6 weeks, but I'd leave it a bit longer.

When the holes have closed up, rub vitamin E oil/moisturiser on it to reduce scarring. Also, consider taking zinc supplements to reduce the chance of it growing out again.

Do they come out easily?
What signs are there that it could come out?

Oh, and you might want to leave it to heal for a while as that part of your body is slow healing. Next time you get it pierced, they might re-pierce it behind the scar tissue so that it stays in better.

Usually, you notice the distance between the holes getting shorter. Your bar/ring may also get caught more often, as there will be more of it sticking out. There may be a line joining the holes. I also had extreme redness and pain.

It will basically look different to you. If you notice any change at all that doesn't seem right then ask your piercer for advice as soon as possible, and look after it really carefully (salt soaks). It's better to take them out rather than letting them fall out though.
