What nice middle-class salary do you want by the time you're about 32.

£45k for me.

What do you want, and what do you consider well off and comfy.

In Central London, assuming you have a family, you'd only just get by with that kind of salary.

about 50 would be comfortable

USD or GBP?
Honostly? Around £90k when I'm around 45. Hopefully I'll have reached consultancy by then. (assuming I get into med school :P)

By the time you're just entering your 30's? Think you must be doing something right.

45K is a LOT of money, I think it's achievable and realistic. I'm not asking for what salary you necessarily want, but what you aim for.

By 32 I'd like similar to your £45k, by 40 I would like £60 if I lived like in the north.

By 32 id like £60k and £90 when Im 40 if I live in London.

That's not true, my parents get by having never earnt half that. I'd be happy with 45k personally.

I don't really mind to be honest, as long as I'm happy and comfortable. My parents don't earn that much but they're comfortable. Although I'd love a car though.

Do both of your parents work? That makes a huge difference. Sure if both parents are on 45k, they are more than getting by but a typical 32-year old male may have a partner and a young child. With 45k it's hard to support a young child if your partner hasn't started working yet.

You can just about buy a place (and not in Central London so that's why I pointed out the case of Central London) and if you do, you are indeed only getting by: probably not that much going out and certainly no expensive holidays.

I speak from experience as I have colleagues who are on those types of salaries in Central London with a young family. Of course, if you're single in you're 20s and no commitments and don't particularly want to save, you can have a lot of fun with 45k.

I hope to earn at least $200K/£100K.
Most 23 year olds I know are already on £45K

About 60K, or 50ish if I'm not in London. I'm starting on 30, so I'm not sure that my salary will double in ten years :s-smilie:

£100k, but I'd settle for £85k.
