According to new specification for A level, is it possible to get A* grade even by resitting?

As far as I know, there are no restrictions on re-sits.

This A* system is starting to be a pain in the ass. So many things unanswered... highly unprofessional.

That is completely untrue. There is nothing that suggests such in any of the published documentation.

I've heard this, but can't think where.
    Probably just speculation etc.

It might stem from the fact that that's apparently why you can only get an A* based on the A2 stuff - limited re-take opportunites there!

Geez, what specification are you reading?!
First you post a thread saying that you heard you need 3 A*s for Oxford courses, and now you post this.

    Unfortunately, that is untrue.

It is possible to achieve an A* by resitting A2 units - no limits involved.

But as somebody mentioned, you may have to resit the following year if you need to take the June paper again.

You can still get an A* by resitting modules, but some universities (specifically Cambridge) have stated that if you are made an offer of A*AA, they will not accepted an A* achieved by resitting, and only view it as an A

You think wrong. You need 90% on average for the A2 modules.
