Does anyone else doing the 21st Century Core Science Double Award Course think that the exam parts of it are quite easy, but that the Data Analysis is really hard to get the A/A* marks on? I'm attempting to improve my data analysis (shoving a light bulb down a tube and measuring resistance on an LDR :woo: ) and I'm finding it really difficult to get up into the 7/8 marks for each section. I'm predicted A* A* for science, but I got a D on my first data analysis attempt, but that might have partly to do with finding some sheets of it in my science book after I'd handed it in... I've got the 6 marks for the sections ok, but I'm finding it difficult to get it any higher.

Detail, Detail, Detail.

Download the mark scheme for the ocr website and use this to from the basis of your answers. My Chemistry one (Rate of reactions, Magnesium, Hydrochloric acid) was 17 pages, + graph.

Oh right, you done rate of reactions for add science too?
Same here, I'm just doing it right now...I'm on 19 pages and I've just finished talking about my preliminary...Even though i'm just doing quality and not quantity for this piece.

Any hints/tips gozatron? Or anything that can help? I'm doing the same mg + hcl too

Oh yeah for the starter topic
my data analysis for the core was pretty naff when I first handed it in a d aswell
the one bit of advice I was given is basically write it like you are writing it for an idiot and make sure you have the key words in it like conclude
I lost about 4 marks for not writing the words in conclusion in my conclusion
bit harsh but I'm sure you'll do better the second time!

I don't know how i got an A* for coursework in Core, my Case Study was the ugliest, less scientific thing imaginable. and my data analysis (hooks law) was written in cramp sheet provide by a teacher
