How to keep Cuban cigars without a Humidor?

Hi, my mum recently went to Cuba and she brought me back a few nice cigars (lucky me  ) Anyway now I'm scared as I'm sure they will dry out if they are left out of a Humidor within a few days?!

Does anybody have any other advice on how to 'keep' them as long as possible?(they're currently in a plastic bag like a sandwich bag with an elastic band closing it which is how the cigar factory did it).

Does anyone know what the humidity level is in england atm? I read on some cigar websites that at 70/70 (70 fahrenheit and 70% humidity) cigars 'keep' so I was wondering how close we are to that in England.

Thanks.

you could always sayyy put them in a styrofoam cooler kind of thing with some humid air? say steam or something? otherwise, buy one or google diy humidors. else cross your fingers and pray they keep. else, send your mother back to cuba to get you more.

First of all, humidors aren't that expensive and if you want to keep them for a while then you'll need one.

Secondly, if you're not keeping them for long then either carry on with the bag (though I suggest a proper, airtight one, as opposed to an elastic band) and put something inside it to keep it humid (a small piece of wet sponge, or paper towel). Make sure its not too humid in there or your lovely cigars could develop mold. Your other option is to find a wooden box and do the same thing in there - this is going to be better than the plastic bag, but again not a long term solution.

Which part of Cuba are the cigars from?

If you are talking about a box of 25 it is okay to keep them in their original box for aging. Most of the sliding lid boxes are made of wood and keep them real good if you have a storage system that holds boxes
