Kidney failure (of M-J)

As some of you may have noticed, M-J has not been online very much over the past week or so, this is due to several things:

1: she had a flu like illness.

2: she met up with me in London.

3: she has had to go into hospital to be treated for partial Kidney failure.

At present she is not in any danger of losing her kidney's, but did have to go onto a dialesis machine on saturday and last time I spoke to her she was still in hospital and did not know when she would be discharged.

Well, being about 450 miles away from her I can't support her as much as I would like, but I will try to talk to her whenever she wants.

I hope she gets better soon, there is no point in asking loads of questions becuase it sounds like you don't know yourself yet. I am sure she will be pleased that people are thinking of her. Lets use this thread as a virtual get well card.

Get well soon M-J

Ooo, that not good at all. Most acute renal failures though are associated with drugs (like antibiotics i mean) and are fully reversible (will get better ina few weeks).
Dialysis though shows its pretty bad, but odds are still she'll completely recover with no real long term damage.

Give her all the best.

wow that sounds really bad, I hope she gets better soon and stuff...

It does sound kinda ominous but I have faith in the NHS (specially with kidneys - my dads failed and he's fine now!!) so yeah, get well soon MJ!!

Well, yet another update is in order.

M-J's left kidney is almost functioning normally again, although her right one shows no sign of working as yet. When I talked to her earlier she seemed quite perky, although our conversation was punctuated by spasmic pain.
