My mother is going to Ladies Day a fotnight today and needs something to wear. I know what type of outfit/dress she'll need but don't have any idea where to shop for it.

My mother is in her late 40's so she'll need shops that suit her age.

Price range isn't a huge problem but I'd like it not to be expensive

    Where you think?

How about Debenhams or something like that? Department stores are your best bet for that kinda thing

Wallis and M&S tend to do some nice dresses/occasionwear more suited for older people, and tend to be the kind of things you can really dress up with some nice accessories or a hat. Otherwise John Lewis and House of Fraser would be good places to have a look as they tend to have a lot of smart/occasion type ranges.
