Hi

The final deadline for my AS coursework is coming up shortly and I was wondering if there was a word count limit.

Our school says 2000 words but I think this is more of a recomendation rather than a limit but I thought I'd better check.

Does anyone know what edexcel say?

Thanks

You have to write about a modern biological problem and how biologists are resolving it.

The deadline is the 3rd of April (last day of term). Thats the deadline the biology dept. has set it probably isnt the exam boards deadline

Im doing the same coursework.
Ive been told 1500-2000 words.
They said once the coursework gets to 2000 words the examiner stops marking and the rest of the work doesn't count.
hope this helps

Crap.

Does everyone's coursework get marked by an examiner or is it just a few that get moderated?

I think I may be ok.

I've been trying to get confirmation from edexcel and have found this

Word Count

Please note that there is a recommended word count for the Visit-Issue Report for Unit 3 and for the Individual Investigation in Unit 6.
For Unit 3, reports should be between 1500 and 2000 words in length. For Unit 6, reports should be approximately 3000 words in length.
Candidates are strongly recommended to follow these guidelines as longer projects tend to lose direction and hence, marks.
from here:- http://www.edexcel.com/migrationdocu...ce-biology.pdf

My coursework is over 3000 words but I don't think I have lost direction, I just can't see what can be ommitted so hopefully this means I'll be alright.

My teacher is in regular contact with Edexcel and she says that its 2000 words give or take 500 words.
so you should be ok if its between 1500-2500
mine was just under 2300
