Hey,

For some reason my windows vista desktop pc is no longer recognising any USB devices at all, be they flash drives, Wifi adaptors etc. Any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance

Have you done any recent Windows Updates?
Try a system restore to the last time they devices worked.

I did a Windows Update and my Monitor decided it wouldn't go into standby after shut down, was a Widnows Update problem...

My system restore isn't working.. not a good sign. That said, I don't think it's ever worked. I did a windows update a few days ago, might that be a cause? This computer is barely ever used, I mainly use my MacBook.

[EDIT] I ran a system restore to before the windows update. It was successful but the USB devices are still not working

Any other ideas?

There are seven installed items under that heading:
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
USB Mass Storage Device
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub

Is it okay to right click > Uninstall all of them?
