well unless you get a free memory card with it, don't buy a memory card (if you get it in a store) because they are soo much more expensive.
you can get them much cheaper online, like off play.com

Really?

That's almost within the op's budget actually. But cowsgoquack's suggestions are probably more appropriate (apart from the hasselblad! :p:).

Maybe she'll reconsider if her budget allows it. Maybe it was crap help.
But it's no less helpful than being the orthography police lol
Maybe, but probably a compact is going to be more appropriate anyway.

canon ixus 70/75/80 etc.

Hilariously, this thread sums up the terrible state of TSR.
Grammar police, pointless bickering, useless attempts at help, sarcasm. Pathetic.

Hiya,
Amazon and Argos do some quite cheap compact digital cameras. To be honest if you want something half decent, you might need to go up to around the £150 mark. Maybe split the cost with your dad or relative? Some suggestions I'd make are:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-Digita...7661590&sr=8-2

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-PowerS...7661530&sr=8-5

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DM...7661692&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujifilm-Fin...7661692&sr=8-3

Hope that helps.

Another thought worth considering is which brand your mum's old camera was. Did she like it? It might be a good idea to get her one by the same manufacturer if she liked it. I say this because she'll be used to the button and menu layout which is typically common between cameras by the same manufacturer.
