Do you realise how expensive recording equipment is?

For the lowest piece of kit imaginable you're looking at £80ish, and that's just for a single decent microphone.

mate it ent cheep to get this gear. Just getting a microphone is fairly useless unless he has software to record it onto. Thing is with the equipment is you get what you pay for. Unless he has something like cubase/protools i wouldnt go getting mics/addons because its pointless. If your looking for something like a portable recorder i would try the Zoom handy recorder H2 but your looking at around £150, i have it and its brilliant!
Do you know what he has already? Might help determin what is worth getting.
