What's wrong with a ring from argos? It's just as good as any.

OP: I think the last one is nicest but you might want to look at other pieces like necklaces too

I haven't had any problem with it. :dontknow: Most of it looks the same as the stuff from a jewellers. The only difference is the price tag. Some of the jewellery is a bit tacky though, I have to agree.

they are 'chavy' i guess but to be honest its not like the person knows about argos in the first place since shes from abroad and i dont think itll matter to her where i got it from because itll be a massive surprise for her

sorry but i don't like any of them i'd get something from a market/craft fair/even ebay that is a bit more unique and not so argos..
you could get silver/mother of pearl/shell/abalone/opal for a similar price and i just think it looks nicer for little money than gold plating and hearts:

Oh God, the first one is hideous.

But to be fair, Argos jewellery at that price is pretty manky :/

I quite like the first one, though i do have strange taste. the fourth is probably your safest bet though.
do you have any local produce shops around? i got a few gorgeous pieces quite cheap from one here, including an opal ring and an onyx set. The rings were <£10 each and lovely.

If you're going for cheap, I'd think a plain rare metal band is better than with a gaudy fake gem.

Yes. It's simple and looks the least 'cheap' if you ask me! hehe.
