Explore Learning

Hi there,

I have an interview for the Assistant Director post with these guys soon. Was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them - I saw some posts about people working as tutors a coupla days ago but can't find them now! Or anyone else who's applied/previously interviewed/works for them!

Anything would be great - I think it looks ace and would really like the job.

I want to be in London but I'm not that fussy! What about you? Are you going to apply? If you do give me a shout I can try and remember some interview stuff!
I like the sound of this company, mainly because I would be able to stay at home with my parents :p: Just filling in the application form now!

It's not til June so I have a while - they offered me a date in May but it was the day my dissertation is due so they let me push it back!

What centre are you going for? PM me and i'll try and help

Hi Flicker,

I have a first round interview with Explore Learning for an Assistant Director position, and I was wondering if you could give me any tips on how to prepare for the interview. Is the interview competency based? I'd really appreciate your help because I really want this job!
Yeah me too! I'd really like some tips on the interview because I'm not sure how to prepare at all! Thanks.

Hi again,

sorry ive not got back on here sooner!

I passed my first interview but my assessment centre date was changed to October so I have another couple of weeks to prepare.
I’m not really sure what to expect from the next interview and I think the demand for posts is pretty high. Apparently there will be 9 people at my interview and they hold two per month - surely there can’t be that many posts?
Any advice on the assessment centre interview bit would be HUGELY appreciated!
Thanks

These assessment days are normal to other companies as they are constantly holding assessment days but they are not necessarily that competitive - ie, if you are good, you will get the job, if not you won't. They don't have a quote of number of people to take per assessment day, and remember everyone will be applying for different locations. The company is growing massively this year with loads of new centres and as a result there are lots of positions as people move around and get promoted

Thank you so much for your reply!

I was starting to worry as i was on their website and all the centres in my area seemed to be fully staffed (ie they had a director n 2 ADs) so i figured there would be no posts. Am i right in thinking that you are an AD? do you enjoy the job? how did you find the assessment day?

Thank you so much for the reassurance... i'm pretty nervous!
