Depends if he can walk ok. I think I had crutches for my ingrown toenail...

Yeah, good luck to him. The anesthetic injection REALLY hurts.

I wasn't entitled to crutches when I bruised all mine on a Duke of Edinburgh expedition and consequently they came off :zomg:

Or therapy, for that matter.

But no, just don't encourage him to do any long-distance running.

 OH GOD what happened to your ingrown toenail?

I've got an appointment with my GP on weds about my two big toenails and I'm fearing something painful is going to happen :frown:
Are you joking? I had both toenails removed cos they were ingrowing when I was 11 and though it hurt I managed to walk around fine, no mention of crutches at all. I had another operation on them a few years later and that was fine too, just needed to wear open toed shoes after both for a few days as my feet wouldn't fit into normal shoes with the bandages. And as FallenPetal said, the injection does hurt loads, I had 8 the first time :frown: so good luck to him!

Not much.

They just inject it. It hurts like hell as they do it. Then it stops hurting.

You have to change the bandage on it once a day and soak it in a salt bath to make sure it grows properly, but that's not too much hassle xDD
tell him to stop being a pussy
I had my toenails taken out but it didn't affect my walking, I just wore sandals and changed my bandages everyday.

You definetly, definetly won't need crutches.

Hello,

My boyfriend is having his toenail removed in a few days. I just wondered if he's entitled to gain free crutches from the NHS as he won't be able to walk very well if at all :frown:

Any help?

Thanks.

I didn't get any free crutches, or any special treatment so i doubt it. If I managed to cope I'm sure he can, unless he is even wimpier then I am.

Why's he having his removed? And you can if you like! Though, it'll probably scare me even more.

Lmao I'm at work, trying to be discreet about being on TSR.

No hope there, that just made me LOL . My colleagues face = :s-smilie:
Sounds like he needs to man up! I pulled out my toenail myself :yikes:

Both sides of his toenail and digging into his toe. One side is all pussed up and swollen, it's awful. He has left it that long (sturborness) that it's got worse and worse. He finally went to see a doc and even she was shocked, she said she hadn't seen an infected nail that bad in a long time (I think she is a specialist). I think he's just having the sides off and having a bit of nail left in the middle.

Mine was like that; it was absolutely delicious. I had two operations on one toenail, what fun. The injections were okay the first time but the second time I had to have about four billion because my toe refused to go numb. I have a bit of nail left in the middle too, except it's really thick and grows diagonally. Hot, I know. I don't know what I did wrong!

Good luck to him; no he probably won't get crutches - it doesn't hurt that badly after the operation - for me it was much less painful than when it was ingrowing.
