I don't think they're anything groundbreaking as such, but they did help pave the way for alternative/indie acts to do well in the charts over the last few months. Their music is catchy and fun, and they are also pretty good live...
so yeah, I like em.
EDIT: Though i *would* agree that they are overrated. so in answer to the thread title...'yeah'.

theyre great imo not a tad overrated even though theyre not really groundbreaking
