Thope Park isn't for kids any more 
Chessington and Thorpe Park are run by the same company. The kids rides have been moved to Chessington, and the big rides have been moved to Thorpe Park. Thorpe Park has a ride with the biggest number of loops in the world!

Think so. It's called "Storm in A Teacup"

You cant really compare any theme park to alton towers due to its sheer size.
Except, say, Disney World, which can't compare seeing as it's about 1000 x bigger than Alton Towers!
