i clicked every time i saw a sign or a car at a junction or even at the slightest thing, never got disqualified, racked up like 20 clicks on some of the videos

Keep clicking at the slightest thing - I only just passed as I'd just clicked when I first saw something which is apparently not the way to score well

dont click in any sort of rhythm, click at anything you suspect could be a hazard. and when you do see something that you think is a bit dodgy, click 2 or three times to make sure you hit the 5 or 4 marks

I did this - and do this every time and manage to get 5 or 4 marks. But for some reason, in the real thing, I barely got any 5 or 4 marks, mainly 3 and 2 and some even completely missed  :frown:

I really dont understand what went wrong..

I got the pass mark on this. The person giving me my results gave me a very dirty look

You have to click every time "the situation changes" to get decent marks on the thing...If it was for overtaking a cyclist say you have to click when you see the cyclist and when you need to go round them or if they change direction etc. I did that on the practice ones anyway and I went from failing consistently to decent passes, so it must work I guess

You are allowed to click everytime you see a clue for a hazard (ie pedestrians walking on the pavement, coming up to a junction, entering a row of parked cars) but what you REALLY get marked for is the developing hazards.

But, remember, don't do what my friend did - clicking nonstop when she saw a hazard and the car in the video didn't stop - she lost all the marks for that clip

Just click once when something requires you to change direction or speed. For example, when you are approaching a junction and you see a car slowly pulling out, click!

guess it might be down to luck then. which is a bit stupid since that defeats the whole point of a driving test! i did that method and got 70/75!

Hopefully it works out next week when I do the test again! I managed to get 50/50 for the questions though.. but they're much easier lol

haha i failed on the questions, got 43 out of 50! doh!

When i did my first theory i got all the questions but like 22 on the hazard perception even though i did well on the practice. The second time i did exactly the same as i did before and just passed. So all i can say is keep practicing and just have to do it again.

The new driving success CD is really good! I failed my theory twice! First I got 1 mark off on the questions, the second I just flopped the HP, after using the CD I got 48 and 63, its about a fiver on amazon

Plus do the three click rule, click when you expect something to happen, click as soon as it happens and then click again  not too quickly though leave a second or two between each click, worked for me

i clicked and hoped...i clicked at everything. onky just scraped a pass though.

Also look for the obvious - if it's a clip of driving down a country road, keep an eye on the tops of the hedgerows for the top of that lorry that's just about to come around the corner. Or if its a clip of a sunny road, with shadows on the left hand side, look for the cyclist of horse rider. Dual carriageway clips are likely to be someone not indicating before pulling out, clips in pedestrian areas obviously people walking out in front of the traffic - vans - look underneath them...can you see feet? (I actually naturally drive like this now - almost saved me from running someone over the other day who stepped out from behind a transit van - what a ****.)

Think logically about it, expect the unexpected AND the obvious - those pedestrians at the crossing clearly aren't going to wait for the lights to change! - my brother taught me to do hazard perception - he got 75/75 when he sat it for his PCV license - first person ever to do so apparently. I got 74/75.

It was ages ago when I did mine, but I remember just clicking at people, cars emerging, cyclists coming up ahead, etc., as soon as I saw them. This worked for me as I almost got full marks on it.

I did loads of practice ones on a DVD and got a lot of 5 and 4 marks. But today I did the real thing and did really bad. Failed 'cos of it.

Has anyone failed this part of the test and are there any tips to improve? I seriously don't have a clue where I went wrong. :frown:

I used em disks to practive and got good marks on em! But when it came to the real test I was rubbish! It wasnt nothin like it! I scraped passin my theory test! Got bang on what u need for the hazard/perception and 32/35 for questions!
