My workout plan and eating

I had an induction at my gym they told me to do cardio for 30 mins, plus about 7 machine exercises mostly on the pressure machines doing my legs arms etc but they said after the 4 weeks its highly unlikely ill see a difference - that sounds crap!

So, i want to get rid of my fat and get muscle, are protein shakes good? and what sort of diet should i be keeeping?

woohoo thanks.

Lots of fruit and vegetables, water...Less fat?
I'd always thought protein shakes were rather unhealthy (could be wrong), why not eat fresh meat/fish?

Don't drink protien shakes straight away. Are you going for muscle bulk or tonned body?

Unless you're going for body building dont take the shakes. And the gym was right you probably won't see a real difference for a few months, you'll no doubt lose weight (especially if you eat good food as well) but muscle takes a long time to become visible. I give it 3 months before people actually start noticing, a healthy lifestyle is not a quick fix. It takes commitment, therefore don't give up at the first hurdle.

Its near impossible to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. I don't know how fat you are but most people bulk first, this means eating food high in protein and quite alot of protein at that. During this time you should be doing high weights and low reps for your target muscles around 3-4 times a week. To start to recognise any noticeable differences you have to wait for about 3 months. You seem to be a wealthy guy so buying special high protein food shouldn't really be a bother to you.You can also eat a good amount of carbohydrate food but remember excess carbs lead to excess fat so be careful.
Also do not do much cardio during this time as cardio burns muscle aswell, so keep cardio low.

After this bulking stage and you're satisfied enter the cutting stage. This is when you can start cardio and only eat high protein diet, you'll lose an insignificant amount of muscle but not too much. After this you should be pretty ripped. In all this may take 1 year depending on your genetics. if you got good genetics building muscles should not be a major problem.

4 weeks? lol

cardio is good to loose weight. If you want to bulk up; weights, boxing equipment like speedballs & boxing bags are a good way to train up. You will see the difference after a week if you train hard.
