Year 12 - Do you go back after your exams?

Do you go back to college after your exams? (Y12 only)

I just wanted to know whether it was only our college that once you've done your exams you don't come back for those several few weeks until the summer. Does anyone elses college/sixth form do this or do you all have to go back in June-July.

We finish 8th May and only come in when we have an exam, and then don't come back after then except for a few days for UCAS stuff, Interviews and trips.

Yup, we start our A2s just afterwards.

i never knew this was the normal proceedings

is it the same everywhere up and down the country

i guess it's kind of good starting early with exams being in the NEXT YEAR :eek3:

Yup, we start our A2s just afterwards.

But our teachers did say it would be at a relaxed and easy pace so shouldn't be too bad..

My college gave us one week off (after the exams finished) and then we went back for just under a month [until the end of the academic school year]. In some subjects we started A2 and in others we did things like group projects (consolidating our knowledge from AS to be built upon at A2). :smile:

We did.

One of my friends refused to go to History lessons any more - as he had decided he wanted to drop it - and he was threatened with expulsion over it.

Surely getting a taster of each subjects A2 demands can only be helpful when deciding which to drop.

That's what I always thought was strange about it, and also the fact that some people may not even stay on to Yr 13.

Yup, ours make us keep going until the end of the year, so that we don't drop something and then regret it after results.

So yep, we do come back after exams. Ugh.

yes, but just to muck about - or we can stay at home. People who get bored at home like me will drop in often. And of course most come in on the last day to catch the celebrations.
