Is it really bad if you swear on someones life that somethings not true when it really is, or is it just something childish?

nah it's ok, anything to make your lie sound better eh

well i think it's a "trust" thing, plus this shows how much u like the person u swore on his/her life. so i dont think that he/she would die or sth because of what you did, bt it's more like if that person knew that you swore on his/her life that sth not true, this might hurt!!!

Well....it was my mum. But i couldn't tell the truth. I felt terrible after it but then i wondered whether i was just being stupid worrying.

SNP?? *shakes head*

Swearing on your mum's life is allowable - having anything to do with the SNP is not.

I'm not actually superstititious about such stuff - I don't get worried that something bad might happen to the person whose life I swear on.

However, swearing on someone's life is a very strong thing to do - it's to acquire someone's trust on the basis that their life means so much to you that you couldn't possibly lie when you use such a phrase. It's so foul to swear on someone's life (make them think that your life is so important to you) and yet be abusing their trust right under their nose. To swear on someone's life and be lying is to have no regard for that person's emotions or in fact, their life. It's like saying you don't care if they die.

Gosh that made no sense.
