Good advice Godmaster - I know plenty of people who were 'shocked' into working after receiving their GCSE grades and achieved fantastic grades in their AS levels which should be more than enough for oxbridge.

I'm an international studetnt, have applied to Oxford to study PPE.

My GSCE equalent would be from the Norwegian Examination board (grades are from 1-6, where 6 is best). I got

6 in Religion, Norwegian bokmaal, Norwegian (oral), mathematics, written English, oral English, History/Economics/geography, written French, natural sciences (physics/bio/chemestry), physical education and music (11 in all).

5 in Norwegian newnorse, home economics and oral French (3 in all).

4 in art.

My predicted grades for IB is 37 out of 42, including 776 at higher level.

What was the G in?!
Spanish. I figured that, already knowing 4 languages, I didn't need to learn another one.

No.... I managed to do six AS's through one being General Studies and thus requiring very little work, and French being done early.... plus for GCSEs we were just really well crammed by our teachers before the exams.

Is this another "lets all compete to see who's got the most ridiculous number of A*s so we can marvel at our own intellectual superiority" -type thread? I suspect so...
