Question about the GCSEs Books

Hi,

I would like to know which one of those publishers of GCESs subjects is producing GCESs books which are more preferable to students? In other words: as a GCESs student: what is the publisher you prefer to buy you GCSEs books from him? And why?

The publishers are:

1- Collins

2- Oxford

3- Longman

4- Cambridge

5- Heinemann

6- CGP

7- Letts

8- Nelsonthornes

Iam waiting your reply

Thanks

It depends what the subject is. For Science, I like my CGP revision books, but for Maths, I feel that my Collins one is better.

Hmm, I use CGP. They work best for me. I guess it's just a case of it ain't broke don't fix it! I've always used them, see, and cannay be arsed changing that now!

Yes, I have always used CGP, but as Maths is my weakest subject, I decided to give a book a try which was recommended by a friend and I find it so more helpful

Maths is my weakest subject too...and now you've suggested Collins, I may give it a try! What tier are you doing?

Reply 5

When I did my GCSEs I used CGP for all my subjects.
I found that they gave good notes that were easily readable and understandable.
I'd definitely recommend them... (just excuse the corny jokes printed in the books!)

I am doing Higher but the books are for Intermediate and Higher. They are quite expensive, the revision guide £10 and the exam practice book £6, but I got them reduced on Amazon.

They are called 'Total Revision' and 'Exam Practice' and the website is www.activerevision.com

Thanks to all

Actually i will do GCSEs & A Level alone and with private tutors.

What mean ,Science (double award)

I could never revise Maths from a book, so steered clear from revision guides for Maths. Science and History though, CGP were the best by far imo. But they've got to be used purely as a revision guide and not something to learn new things from.

No, I don't agree. I've had some **** teachers in my time, and CGP has always saved me. I genuinely do learn from them!

Yes, I couldn't revise without a revision guide.
