should be ashamed. your mum still does all this??

Why should I be ashamed? My mom chooses to get my shopping because she likes to take advantage of the 2 for 1 deals at our local Asda and there is no Asda near my accommodation! Hehe  You're just jealous really!

No, I'm not American, I'm a Brummie (well nearly, I'm from Dudley!). All Brummies call their mothers 'mom.'

Uni: University of East Anglia
Course: Chemistry
Town/City: Norwich

Per Week
Average Student Expenditure:
Food (lunches, etc.): Am self-catered (ensuite room is £72.24 a week) and I spend about £25 on my weekly shop
Laundry: Washing Machines are £1.20, dryers are 20p for 7 mins (you usually need about £1) + a magazine to read while I wait- I do one wash load a week on average so about £3
Books, stationery and equipment: I bought all my stationary before I came, spent about £90 on books so far
New Clothes: Not a set amount, I usually buy it if i really need it (like I needed a coat etc)
Entertainment, societies, etc: Usually about £20 a week (not including the money spent to join societies)
Extras - local transport, telephone, gifts, etc: usually about £5 a week on bus fare - sometimes more though.

My student loan is all going on my accomodation, so I have to live off the money that my parents give me a month. I had about £600 left in my savings after I bought my laptop, and there is about £350 of that left (I was intending on spending it throughout the year but that isn't gonna last!).

Washing machines are £2.00 and dryers are 20p for only 5 mins how unfair - why didn't I consider this when picking a university!
