hi all,
where are these grades published? On the website i find them still to be ABB. Cass to be truthful is a very very top notch university with some courses having a 100% graduate employment rate.

sorry- i meant that AAB/AAA is in the new 2006 prospectus.

I am going there in September for Banking and International Finance and i was supposed to be going there for this year except for the fact i was worried about the reputation of the rest of the university. However ive heard mant companies including Goldmand Sachs and Credit Suisse First Boston say the business school is good for recruitment.

It appears that the Business School is excellent in its field. Tony Blair, Jack Straw and Gordon Brown have all given speeches there within the last 18 months. Its just a shame that the Business School cant somehow detach itself from the rest of the university and become slightly more like LBS, except for its offering of undergraduate courses too.

Looks like they're on the way up? What do you guys think? Requirements for 2006 entry are now AAB for all courses except Acturial Science which is now AAA.

My friend got an AAA offer for Actuarial Science at Cass this year.

Yeah, I just remember him telling me he was annoyed - because he'd intended to use City as an insurance... but AAA scuppered any hopes of that! He does Econ, History, Maths A2 and did AS Chemistry.

but all of citi's courses are available on UCAS extra, including CASS courses. How can they increase the grade requirements if they have places on all courses?

@sumitk87:

Where can you see the courses being offered at Ucas Extra?
I can't find it?

thats for all city courses but i can see even the cass courses such as IFRM, BIF ect...
(look at the key at the bottom of the page)

ucas extra is not THAT bad, but if they go into clearing, that will suck.

You've got to take into account that some applicants haven't replied to their offers yet, such as me, and therefore a lot of places at city are still available. What is city supposed to do if it only gets declines from their applicants?

I've got an unconditional offer for actuarial science at city, but I am still waiting for LSE, King's college and queens mary... :mad

Yeh, i mean imperial computing goes into clearing

Theres got to be quite a few straight A students that dont go to one of the top 5 universities- companies will see from their a level results if they were top of their class or not, they wont be dismissed cos they went to a good business school- but part of a cr*p uni.

The thing is I have got the German Abitur. I don't really understand the way how UK students' A Level are assessed. All I know is that these obviously get offers like AAA or AAB which they need to meet. Though I did not get offers like that. They only give me unconditional offers instead. I have to put down a firm choice. And that's it.
Or what do you really mean with preferences?

Now it seems I am destined for Cass(not city  ). But as soons as I receive an offer from LSE, I will have to reconsider the decision.

What i mean is this, you can tell from A Levels (which are more of a level playing field than degrees + courses) so companies can tell whether you are intelligent. I say this because if so many people studied different things at different universities then its hard to compare.

All i know is that i will go to cass with like 6 or 7 A Levels, and the business school has a fantastic rep with the city firms.
Hi y'all.

Melbourne got your message will let you know if i do

Does anyone know whether City/CASS will take students who don't meet the requirements slightly over the students applying through clearing?
