log base e on calculator?

Hi,
not sure if this question should go here, but it's maths related :biggrin:

. Simple question. How do I do Log base E on one of those standard CASIO (fx-83) scientific calculator. I can only get log base 10 (as that's the default). I'm sure it doesn't vary much model to model.

its the ln button (natural log)

If you don't have that button, you can always enter

\dfrac{\log x}{\log e^1}

(I use

e^1

because not all calculators have a

e

button)

the calculator he said he has does have it included, but good as an alternative

how would you enter e^1 if you dont have the e button? (might be a stupid question.....)
