There are some very fine young men at Caius. VERY fine...

There are also some fine lunatics, one of my best mates is going out with someone in Caius and I get told some ridiculous(!) stories. Makes the men of Clare appear sane.

Names aren't important! Priya might remember. I'm thinking of Squires members, I guess.

don't know many squires, guess that must be why. but they seem quite hardcore when it comes to alcoholism, even by cambridge standards...

My mate went to his girlfriend's house and one of them (third year now) was sitting on the floor of his room pretending to be a heroin junky... had needles and was burning something on a spoon and everything. The same person also once chased a woman 'intruder' all the way to kings plodge from the garden of the house next to Harvey Court (whose name I've forgotten), it turns out they were supposed to be there and they'd terrified this poor innocent person.

As long as they're nice to look at.

 who? i need a new prescription for my glasses  (but then again, i'm a guy, so i don't look at other guys... even then, i haven't *heard* any gossip about any "particularly fine male specimens"..)

Hell, even I can think of at least one, but he damn well knows it.

Ticki, who have you got your eye on? And what have you been doing?

They're very strict about letting non College people into their bar, which is very frustrating if you just want to have a drink with a friend. I can't stand signing into places. I signed into Kings once, jsut to go to the bar and I think they gave my e-mail address to those Rumboogie people.

The people I know from Caius certainly seem to like it. I don't know any of the mathmos, although it doesn't make a huge difference where you apply for maths. I'd recommend against Trinity or Johns for maths though, there's too many of them and they tend to get competitive. That probably goes for Churchill as well.

Really? I must have an innocent Cauis type look about me then, we've been several times without members of the college with us.

Afraid I don't know much about it, but I think the buildings at night are quite scary! The coutyard with the trees and the statue in the corner that looks headless from the way it's lit freaks me out a bit!

No-one in particular (mainly because I'm very bad with names) but they were very easy on the eye. And Priya came back from formal with them gasping, "Vicki, they were GOOOOOOORGEOUS!". Surely we can't both be wrong (even if only one of us is well-behaved at the moment! )?

Yah-huh. I'm sure you know which one I mean. He's nice to look at but I have to say I don't like him specially.

tall, dark, (and if you're to be believed...) handsome? hmm...

honestly though, he's okay once you get to know him, if it's who i'm thinking about. before you get to know him though, he's a bit of a man's man... (too much preening)

honestly though, i wonder which others are there in caius... wonder which gentlemen of the squires made such an impression on the sidney ladies...

Yeah, that seems like the one. He's a Blue at a fairly minor sport.

Meh, I don't know him and I'm not that bothered about it; he's friends with one of the other Clare medics I think, but that's about all. Some of your boaties are ok, I think, but I haven't looked that closely.

Anyway, how goes the revision etc?
Reply 31
quite a few of the caius medics are quite good friends with quite a few of the clare medics, i believe. apparently our new medsoc committee has been trying to organize a return formal to no avail - now they know the pain of organizing things :p:

boaties? *our* boaties? which crew? this thread is full of shocking revelations for me...

revision? what revision? meh, i'm on holiday :p:

Yeah, I know, we just couldn't get organised enough to do it last term. People are useless, and certain factions aren't big formal fans anyway  (unlike me ). And doing practicals together means that we know quite a few of your lot.

I don't know which crew, we are indiscriminate and eye up anything that passes us (we have it down to an art now, you can mostly hear mens' boats coming and just flick your eyes out as they go past, so the cox/evil LBC doesn't see your head move ) Plus I thought your M2 was your M1 for a long time (in fact, until Bumps) because they were both so damn fast!

I admire your resolve, I'm getting all guilty because I haven't done enough. Then, you probably did more during term time

Helenia, I think a drunken May Week jaunt to Caius is in order. Who's with us?

caius M2 is pretty nippy, isn't it? anyway, that crew will make the bulk of caius' mays M3, with a few (1 or 2?) additions from the lents M3. fear the power of caius lower boats  (i believe there'll be quite a number of sub-7 splits spread across M3, M4, M6 (grads) and maybe M7 (rugby) )

there's talk of crews all the way to caius M8  (of which 6 crews probably can row quite decently!!!)

did more during term time? you were talking about rowing, i assume? (otherwise: you've got to be kidding me  )

BTW, are you on the rowing forums?

Well, I'm hoping to be in Clare W2 again, we'll hopefully get 4 womens boats out with probably an equivalent number of men's. We're 2nd in div 3 so with any luck we'll go up, though I have to say the thought of sandwich boat doesn't appeal. 8 is just scary though! Is the top of Mays going to be as uneventful as Lents?

And no, I was talking about work - I did quite a LOT of rowing last term what with subbing into the first boat on several occasions etc. Work was something that happened to other people.

Yes, I am on the rowing forums, part of the "Banana" mafia  - it shouldn't be too hard to work out which one I am...

I...erm...um... *acquired* a Caius squire on the geology trip to Scotland I just got back from. He was pretty fit and keen to see me next term  too bad he's got a gf back at home (!!). Are they all like that??

Ooh, that's not very nice of him! Steer clear!!!

There's nothing to debate!

I'm sure not all of the Squires are like this though. Loz, maybe you should join me and Helen on our excursion and see whether he has any fit friends?
