McDonald's and References

Hello all (particularly anyone who currently works in McDonald's or has a copy of their employee handbook)

I quit McD's 3-4 months ago, and now I'm going for a new job. I never had the handbook, and now I can't access the online version on Our Lounge.

Can anyone check it for me where it mentions references. I remember something like reference requests have to be to head office.

Possible +rep....

It is not Company policy to provide open references.

However, the Company will respond to any request from a prospective employer to provide a factual reference. Reference requests should be made to the Payroll Department in East Finchley.

And just for ease of it all, contact details for head office

Head Office:
Southern Regional Office
East Finchley:

Thanks a lot.

This must mean the reference will be based on punctuality and attendance. I missed 4 days in my time there.
No shows or shift swaps? Four no shows is pretty bad, I'm suprised you wern't fired.

There was a large sign underneath the schedule which says 15 no shows leads to a dismissal, and there was a lot of people there who had not turned up way more than 15 times.

Only 1 was an actual no show, the other 3 I was put on the schedule mistakenly in the middle of a week when I was abroad, which had been approved, but I'd assume on a reference it would still show as a no show.
The last three shouldn't as long as they were approved properly. And 15, holy crap, your restraunt sure was leanient.

Does this mean the ex- employee has to contact head office for the reference or does the new employer request for a reference ??
