Pay Advice (Boots)

Im part of a weekend staff teamand as of late our pay has been basically messed up since February this year. Im normally paid weekly but during the month of February was not paid till the end of the month, where I was then paid less than a weeks wages. Since then I've been recieving £10.00 less than I should be each week. Two of us photocopied our pay slips and left them within the managers office last week to get the ball rolling but nothing was done and our pay slips were left on full view for anyone to see. So this weekend we decided to leave a hand written letter. I'm just wondering what I should do if the nonchalant approach continues to go on regarding this matter, and whether it would seem likely for me to see results in chasing up wages from February.

Can you ring the regional/Head pay office? Explain to your manager that's what you'll do if it doesn't get sorted, and it might get sorted suprisingly quickly. (Mine did, when I they kept "forgetting" to pay me correctly... wasn't at Boots, but I assume the principle stands  )

I would but I don't even know the phone number and Google is failing me. :s-smilie:

Is there not a HR/Personnel department?

I don't understand why you're just leaving things in your manager's office, surely you should explain the issue to your manager, and if he/she doesn't provide you with a satisfactory answer as to why your pay has been cut. Then take further action, instead of leaving clues for him/her.

How's the weather up there on your high horse?? Let me clear up your assumptions. I didn't leave a trail of clues. We called her and the assistant for the Area Manager and we were told to photocopy our pay slips and leave them within the office. All week we waited for a response but we weren't contacted. So this weekend we left a letter stating the errors in our pay clearly and for her to contact us as soon as possible with any updates regarding the matter.

Regarding contacting HR. Even if I was able to get through to them it's one big run around as the standard answer is 'You should go to your manager as he/she is the only person able to sort this out'. I'm going to give it a go anyway.

I worked for Boots last year and they were abysmal when it came to pay. I waited about 6 weeks before I got a penny. When I did get money I only got £200 (I was a full timer) It took another fortnight before my pay was all correct so 2 months to get my pay right and that was just me, others had problems too.

I asked my line manager, I asked our HR women who said its people in payroll. She said she phoned them, emailed them, phoned them, apparently they were so busy with all the other temps and sorting out their details.

I was so pissed off, I really wanted to say I'm not working another day till it's sorted.

To begin with I enjoyed working at boots but I wouldn't go back to that store if they paid me (boom boom) hahah!! In all seriousness I don't think I'd be so quick to work for them again unless they have changed the way in which they pay employees.

Boots are atrocious. I've been waiting for 4 months for my SSP1 form to claim ESA, as they stopped my Statutory Sick Pay in December of last year!! apparently it was sent out to the wrong address!! They are shocking!
