Hello everyone!! I was just wondering if anyone here lives at Colum Hall. It seems really nice cuz its so close to the main campus. And ensuite  Any cons?

Take care,
Mimmie

Cons would probably be - being so close to the Union/town. It might be a bit loud sometimes but on the other hand this is huge plus as there are pubs/clubs about a 5 minute walk away. Cost might be a factor - I don't actually live there but I know the area.

Good point! I never really thought of that  I just figured I'd be close to the main buildings. What about the cost? Is it more expensive around there? I really dont' know

What clubs are within five minutes walk apart from the union? *confuzzled*

As far as I know Colum Hall is very nice, I don't think it's more expensive than the other ensuite self catering halls. I do know that it gets filled up VERY quickly though cause it's popular with not a lot spaces. There's quite a lot of people who put it down as their first choice and end up elsewhere.

Hey - maybe more like 10 minutes away then sorry. If you keep walking down the road that the union is on (in town direction) you'll come across traffic lights - (the road you cross is Boulevard de Nantes I think). You then cross over and you'll see the New Theatre and then there's Creation, Lloyds and Varsity all on greyfriars road

Yeah Lidl is as cheap as anything but Tesco Extra is massive and has everything you could ever need. To be honest, I'm not really all that taken with Lidl, much rather go to Tesco.

You're gonna be doing optometry right? All the optom books are in the Bute Library, which is just down from the Redwood Building. So it's not far

It might have not been updated yet though ... if it says there is in the new booklet you've been sent then I'd go with that.
okay. i think i will put it down on the 4/5th place cos the accomadation seems really nice and its near the business site. i suppose i can live without the internet... lol
