not anti christian, as I said I'm going out with a Catholic altar girl. Just a little anti CU sentiment, because some of the stuff they advocate is a bunch of arse. The uni CU isn't ratified by the union because of some of the discriminatory rules and such that they impose.

also, young earthers are VERY funny. Might as well believe that the earth is flat.

Yep, sure that does happen, but yknow I've been in trouble for imposing my views, and I haven't imposed them, I've just given an opinion when asked. The only people I ever hear state their views without being asked are non christians. Perhaps I'm in the minority, I don't know, but I suspect whats really happening is you have a problem with the views being expressed, rather than the way they are expressed.

If you're looking for a nice Christian experience, try Johns. I'm not involved in the CU myself, but there are many people here who claim that their Christian life has really become really enriched by their experience here.

Its a great thing religion. Shepards the weak and ignorant.
Anyway, I think we need a change of topic.

Yes.. Catholicism is a branch of Christianity, in fact, it constitutes the majority.

However, I've been getting loads of comments about how Catholics aren't real Christians.. which really annoys me!

I dislike the hypocrisy in the CU.

Agreed, as a praticing Catholic also, i've had those comments before- luckily elsewhere not from CU. I had a nagging doubt in my mind at the freshers fair that the Christian Union was likely to be a) a bit mad b) a bit too fundamentalist for me, and probably anti Catholic... because i had heard about Christian Union's from other Universities from friends and relatives. Anyhow a friend of mine, was told that she was going to go to hell for being a Catholic by someone in the CU...

although saying that a good friend of mine,at Collingwood, an Anglican is in the CU and she actually ran the CU group at our old school-which funnily i was a member of :p:

But not entirely surprising considering how closely and constantly they work together. I promise I'll try not to be cliquey...come and visit me in the office and say hi...go on, you know you want to...

They can easily be beaten by the original and best hobnobs- or possibly those hobnob flapjacks that the library cafe does! Hmmm yummy!

Yes I have! In my expert opinion they're stodgy and unsatisfying. Good old-fashioned milk chocolate hobnobs, that's the way to go.

By the way, chocolate, marshmallow and smartie toasties in the Undie = scrummy!
