LSE football Team

Anyone on here a current student on one of the LSE football teams?

I really want to play when I get there but I'm not sure if I'm up to scratch with the ability of the others on the team. From looking around at old threads there are apparently 7 teams. Really hope to be able to get on one of them. I'm not amazing but I don't think I'm rubs either, I use to play for my school but that was a year ago now.

Is there some sort of recreation football where its just for people who aren't good but still love the game enough just to play for fun?

Can anyone who knows or plays for one of the teams describe the level of ability so I can gauge whether I'll be able to make one of teams, even if its the 7th team.

you'll definitely make one of the 7 teams it just depends which of the 7, ranked on ability where 7th team is totally for beginners

What? Have you just made that up?

There are seven teams so assume about 90 players overall. Each year about 30 leave and each year 200-250 sign up for the club. So no it is not easy to get in and even the sevens are decent.

Berrylands in Surrey so you have to pay for the train and it takes about half an hour to get there plus the journey to Waterloo.

Is that every Wednesday the matches are then?

Also, do you know what day training is?

omg we have to pay for a train to get there.....

Isn't there some parks near lse where we could all meet up and play a match ourselves?

There's loads in London, not sure about near LSE, but if you don't want to play competitively, I'm sure you could arrange something like that with people in your hall?

I think the matches are on Saturdays. Firsts and seconds train Wednesdays and Saturdays, all others on Saturdays only. Not completely sure though, I prefer 5 a side matches in various parks across London, it takes less time, costs less and is more fun in my opinion.

Cool cool. Do you know if there's anywhere I can find anymore information about it? I'm interested in Cricket too, but the AU website is rubbish.

I guess, there'll probably be more info when I get there!

Yes I think so although when I was in halls last year the matches kept getting cancelled. There is an official halls league but as I said people don't seem to take it seriously.

I might have to make a casual football society.....(if it doesn't exist)

5 a side football at London parks. Each week a different park.
