WhatFreshHell?
Let me clarify, if I appeal to AAA I would get a place for deferred entry, without having to go through the admissions process all over again?

Thanks for the info!

If you meet the conditions of your offer then yes they are obliged to take you. If the appeal takes a while your entry may be deferred, but you wouldn't need to re-apply if it was simply a matter of appealing. If you chose to re-sit certain modules you would need to re-apply.

Hi guys

I am one of the people in this situation. Edexcel screwed up my History grade, and Cambridge weren't keen on the AAB I got on results day. Once I'd explained to the school there is a priority remark service (they didn't know!) I managed to get it remarked and my grade went up. This was past the 31st August deadline, so they asked me to wait a year. Hence the gap year.

It is my understanding that they are not legally obliged to take you after 31st Aug, but there is an obvious moral obligation!

Ooh, that sounds a little to uncertain for me! Hopefully my tutors have consciences (although I think that may be why they chose me - pity!).

My resolution: Work damn hard just now (not really coming into practise, but I'm getting better... maybe 1-2 hrs per day!!), and then worry about the other possible scenarios during the looooooooong wait between exams and results.

Yes but a moral argument won't find you a college room to live in - I think most colleges'd offer a deferred place, as in your case.
