How to convert concentration in mol dm-3 to percent %?

Basically for my coursework my teacher wants the concentrations in percentages rather than mol dm-3 (its biology). I'm not sure about how to go about this?

E.g. I need to convert 0.0100 mol dm-3 of NaHCO3 into % concentration?

% by mass = .084%

Not sure exactly but in biology he just says e.g 5% NaHCO3???

I'm making up the solutions with solid NaHCO3 in 250cm3 volumetric flask if this is any help?

How do you do that?

I found the mass of the NaHCO3 and divided it by the total mass of the water + the mass of NaHCO3 then *100%
