Gym prices at Brunel

I've been to Brunel and chosen them as my firm choice.

I am intrestered in the gym they offer to students but the girl that showed us round the campus was very unclear on the prices of membership. Please could anyone clear this up for me?

I am currently a member of Fitness First and aware that there is a branch in Uxbridge, however I believe membership for FF is a lot dearer in London. Anyone a member?

Any help would be much appreciated

NOT WORTH IT

if you have to get a membership, go for bronze or silver. gold is a rip off. Yeah their facilities are nice but they take the piss with prices. I think Gold membership was £220-£250 in 2007/8 for the academic year only, you can imagine that it's probably closer to £300 now. I got bronze which was IIRC £165 or nearabouts. Waste of money.

Stick with fitness first.
:O that uni gym is so expensive.
Fitness first is 30 per month where i am which is epsom (30 mins from london) and i view that as a complete rip off! £360 a year. you also have to remember that you may not even be in Brunel for a full year!
This year at Brunel the gym was about £200 for the academic year...
This might actually be the better option even tho people have said it's not.

Not only is it expensive! You don't get a full year- only academic, in my books a years membership means 12months and not anything less. Not only is it a rip off, you also have to by a student union card before any membership, so is cheaper to go to a local gym. Makes you laugh regarding membership types- gold, silver, bronze. Can't believe they charge a joining fee for students and staff, being a member of staff, you would think that they would encourage staff members to look after them selves and the fact they are providing a service for the university. Charging a joining fee for students is crazy- just another rip off! Don't forget you have to pay for classes also- man this is adding up. Now let's look at the equipment, looks fancy but so not practical. Cheapest of the bunch, not very well designed and not very functional stuff. Not to mention that when something breaks down, it takes weeks to get repaired. Basically Brunel brought in a second rate external company to run the facility, but all they have done is bring the place down- Brunel gym had a good reputation for both public, staff and students- was probably the best gym in the area until more energy started, now the Brunel name has been dragged through the mud and will continue in this way until they take the facility back in house. What a shame that some one up high in Brunel has not opened there eyes and seen how better the place could be run, and the potential to bring back it's good name.
Do not use that gym. Its forever packed. Try tru gym
