I do forbidden things with surgical spirit

Sounds painful!! I went through a TCP phase actually, then I realised nothing was happening except PAIN! Witch Hazel seemed to work, but I can't find anymore anywhere, apart fro that Witch Doctor range, but I don't want that, I want pure witch hazel in a bottle!

OK, when you have them Foundation and Concealer are good. For both sexes!
(Guys dont be shy to use it, in the 21st Century we all like to groom ourselves)

Use a face wash with Jojoba beads in! (weird but it works better!)

Forgot the oldest trick,

Toothpaste! makes you get rid quicker. Though make sure you moisturise after as it dry's your skin.

i don't really get spots but there are products available especially for combination skin.
The absolutely best way to wash your face for everyone is with Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, it costs about a tenner but it does everything and you don't need to use very much of it. You can get a free sample from the stall to try it, the little sample bottle lasted me ages.
You probably shouldn't use the same moisturiser all over your face, especially not Nivea as it's really heavy. I like the Garnier Skin Naturals Ultra Lift, which is only about £3 and is on special offer all the time. That's good for drier bits but is still quite light. I love those plasticy pieces of paper that remove oil from you, they are brilliant.

I think that spots are just best left - They will go away and often if you are doing too much to your skin it's likely you'll just spread the infection.

yeah i swear clearasil actually gives me spots, and so does one of those clean n clear face washes.
they do good spot tablets in boots, HRI`clear complexion tablets, theyre great, i think they also do bottles of witch hazel in there, im sure ive got some from there before.

Clearasil did nothing for my skin apart from cause it to get worse. Tea tree oil was far more effective I found. You can get some of these cleansing wipe things - they're pretty good

With skin stuff it does pay to get quality things, clinique and clarins are more expensive but they last longer and they just make such a huge difference to your skin. What difference is a tenner for perfect peachy skin?

Use something you pay more for, the more you pay the better the product!
and remember those jojoba beads

I've got combination skin too and I swear by biotherm bioviatmin exfoliating cleanser, it gets rid of dry flakey bits but it's really mild, and the exfoliating grains are just the right size.
It looks like this.
If you don't live in a big city you might have to get it from the internet but it's so worth it - trust me!
EDIT: for a moisturiser as a base for makeup try 'natural high' from superdrug, it's only about £1.50 and it's really nice and light. Nivea is so heavy, my skin just breaks out if I use that.
Hope that helps (I found clearasil really really harsh).

i totally agree you're paying for quality products and its worth it. i use clinique because its the only skin product im not allergic to, and my skin is usually clear, with the odd evil spot now and then, which i kill with witch hazel and all is fine.

Woo thanks for the tips! Where do you normally buy that biotherm stuff from?

Leave them and save a lot of worry and money.

I have spots. But I don't care, when I see a teenager with spots I don't go erggggh, look how ugly and spotty they are! It's normal and most of us have them, and that's how everyone feels when they see you I'm sure.

tea tree works well.
As does witch hazel just ask for it at the chemists
I use clinique three step plan and if I get dodgy skin I take a vit E supplement and find that helps.

Certain varieties of the pill are meant to help with problem skin. Unfortunately I can't think of anything else except making sure you drink 2 litres of water a day, sleep well and eat healthily. Lots of fruit and vegetables for all those vitamins!

coming off of the pill after taking it for 5 yrs, i noticed within weeks my skin was dark spotty and oily.

for your oily t zone, you can buy soaps and wipes for combination skin. i suggest you wash your face as normal, but do not moisturise at all (unless the cheeks need it, then just put it where needed). put powder over the T zone and it will look ok. or you can wipe an astringent like witchhazel or clearasil over the T zone ONLY. what is the problem? is it spotty? or just oily and shiny?

Me neither, but it would be nice not to have them! Maybe everyone else doesn't notice, but I certainly do!

Try not to use the soaps or wipes as they are not good for your skin, occasional use is ok but not every day as they are very drying.

Everyone should use a moisturiser, all over th skin, even if it just a light touch, as skin will get very dehydrated and in later life, skin won't be very good, if we don't at least moisturise at least once a day.
