The Stop the War Coalition is NOT in support of the Taliban or Sadam Hussein.. that is the most retarded statement to make

i dont like the weak link it makes between hating what america is doing in iraq and elsewhere and actively supporting saddam, al-queda and the like.

hehe, are you denying factual evidence??

The coalition has a steering committee of 33 members. Of these, 18 come from various hard left groups: Communists, Trotskyites, Maoists, and Castrists. Three others belong to the radical wing of the Labour party. There are also eight radical Islamists. The remaining four are leftist ecologists known as "Watermelons" (Green outside, red inside).

The chairman of the coalition is one Andrew Murray, a former employee of the Soviet Novosty Agency and leader in the British Communist party

honestly, it amuses me so much that im accused of blindly supporting the US and here we have two cases of people calling blatant fact, a 'weak link' and 'crap'

But what if a U.S. withdrawal means the return of the Taliban and Saddam Hussein?

"Anything would be better than American Imperialist rule," she snapped back

This from Pilger a high profile journalist supporting the coalition, "Next week is critical. The movement in Britain has an opportunity, in conjunction with the resistance in Iraq, to deal a blow to the US Empire"

he's advocating the resistance in iraq!!!!

What is your point exactley? Just because they are left wing groups does not mean that support or supported the regime in Iraq..

Ahh let me ask the question why ow why did'nt the americans start this war befre 9 11 why cuz they knew that nobody would back it. Blair goes on about the Iraqi people and how we aare saving them we did not really care before 9 11, we were even thinking of lowering our sanctions against them...

rotfl.....ah, that old chestnut. you call an article i happen to agree with crap and retarded and you wont reply to it. and then accuse me of deriding your opinion. hilarity.

the article is highlighting that the stop the war coalition is made up of socialists that effectively couldnt care less about Iraq. it was always about America and they want to see them fail. while many of the demonstrators will be objectors, the people organising this are hardline socialists who would rather see Hussein back in power and more US deaths.

here come the troops, hehe.
i think the answer is rather obvious. the current foreign policy is a result of 9/11.

which one of the 33 steering members are you? i said, the majority of protestors will be mild objectors. however, alot of them, including the organising Stopthewar coalition, which many of you will protest in the name of, hold these views. including Tariq Ali, who i and many arabs, including the Iranian that wrote this piece consider to be one of the most irresponsible commentators at this time.

im sure he was concerned, but he couldnt have justified it purely on those grounds. once the security threat was raised and the problems the UN inspectors were having, thats when his strategy would have changed..honestly, its pretty obvious..

Arguments are often pointless with someone whose views are as extreme as yours
