... seems like it...
You know I watched a program about it not too long ago and after interviewing people at random in the streets the conclusion was that apparantly 13 out of 20 people are clinically depressed and don't know about it

Reply 2

Going by that, and using self diagnosis, I have it too. Yay for me.

I don't know you but I wouldn';t have thought you were clinical depressed. I think it is fair to say that you are suffering from some mental difficulties at the moment, I don't mean to sound nasty when I say that.

I found things very hard when I was your age, mentally I was a mess but as time goes by you learn to move on.

The problem with clinical depression is its can be difficult to detect and people around you may not think there is a problem.

From those symptons it could be that your a severaly stressed out which is probably related to personal problems.

You're a clever girl and I am sure this is just a tempory problem you can over come.

I found the best cure for my problems was simply growing up, you need space to do be able to that though.

Do you feel you need to? What would you hope to get out of going to the doctors? The most they are likely to do is refer to you see a shrink. Any doctor will probably be very relecuctant to give you anti depression pills because of the side effects.

But true. I think most of us (teenagers) have had some if not all of those symptoms at one point:s:

I would still check it out just in case though:smile:

Reply 9

Should it be checked out if there are perhaps factors in your life that may have something to do with it? (other than being a teenager) I'm curious...

But the symptons you have listed are probably how most of us felt when we were teenagers. Its a very tough time as you have so much you have to try and cope with. I am glad I am no longer a teenager.

Don't worry GG, I have it too!

Hate to say it, but being a teenager is part of it. Hormones are a bugger. That's one of the reasons I'm reluctant to get counselling, I'm just going through a stage. I've got to the point where I'm asking myself if it is just a stage though...

You can PM/MSN me if you like:smile:

well, it seems like I am clinically depressed as well, but then again I am also supposed to be bi-polar as well, so, since I am not a professional, I can't really diagnose myself nor anyone else.

Loss of libido...

Reply 18

It's not like any of us actually know you, so you wouldn't harm yourself by telling - it may even help you. Either way, tis fine. I feel pretty shitty most of the time, and i know it's partly because of my hormones, and partly because of something else - but I think that that, in itself, is linked to adolescence. So, I dunno...It's been three years though, and I don't know whether that's longer than a phase!

If you're feeling really different in yourself... then I might be a good idea to perhaps make an appointment with the counsellor (if you have one) at your school. If not - go to the doctors surgery and ask for some information about depression and what services are available - such as counsellors, counselling groups and the like.

Going to the doctors straight away and effectively asking for drugs isnt the best way to do it. It won't solve anything.

If you need to talk though, you have me on MSN and I'm more than willing to talk to you.
