Another lawyer/musician!I turned my place at music college down to apply for law (and we all know what happened with that)! But was hoping to try and combine the two. Many music labels/orchestra's have legal teams so I think it is possible to combine the two.

Out of interest.... what did happen with that?

Got an offer for Russian and Politics at Bath.Really pleased as think It'll be a good ground for doing the CPE.Pretty sorry about the whole process though it really has been a nightmare. The LNAT was hardly taken into consideration and there was discrimination against people with less traditional subjects.Overall I think the alw admissions process has a massive amount to answer for.

Couldn't agree with you more. Thank God UCL understood me

wish i'd applied there!Trouble is universities SAY they accept subjects such as Music, and then discrimante against it in the application process. Why not just be honest?

Yay! Arts thread! I'm in a similar position to some of you- I couldn't decide between University and Music College. I had a Cambridge offer for English and a scholarship to the Royal Academy and Guildhall and I didn't know what to do cos I wanted them both! I phoned Cambridge and asked them to defer my entry, which they did. I'm going to do music this year and then decide at the end of it whether I want to take up my place at Cambridge......assuming I get my grades of course!

Wow... impressive. I very nearly did music at uni (to the extent of filling in the entire UCAS form based on music) but changed my mind at the last minute. Kind of wishing I hadn't now. Hmmm...

what did you end up doing and where?

I was in the same position but decided to opt for Law as there were some areas in music that I didn't particular like (harmony), i much prefer composing(20th C) and performance! But there you go!

I'm going to Durham uni to do English and German in October  . Hopefully going to get really involved in the music scene there though, I've heard their orchestras etc are of a really high standard which should be good. Still kind of regretting giving up music though...
