Girls with chunky legs, do you wear summer dresses/skirts?

Righto. Summer's coming up and summer dresses are appearing in stores, and some of them look so fabuluzzz... but I have chunky legs. :frown: :frown: :frown: It's very depressing. Any other girlies here have the same problem? Do you still wear skirts and dresses? And I mean not with boots and tights to conceal the tree-trunk-truth, but with bare legs for the world to see?

I need sisterhood and words of encouragement. Thank you.

I do.
But if you are self concious about it, buy some nice wedges to lengthen your legs :3

I actually find that dresses make my legs look thinner, my thighs are bigger than the rest of me and they are much more obvious in trousers! I agree with wedges, do wonders for chunky legs.

High heels can have an amazing slimming and lengthening effect on legs, just steer clear of ones with ankle straps.

my legs r huuuuuuuge in comparison with the rest of my body! but i say **** it! at least your legs dont look like theyre going 2 snap and if beyonce can hav proper lady thighs and still look hot then so can us all!

What do 'chunky' legs looks like?

Reply 6

i used to be worried about it but as long as you have a bit of confidence go for it. ive got to the point where as long as i am comfortable then that is all that should matter. i sometimes where leggings just past mi kness on some of the shorter dresses and like to fake tan my legs to give me an extra boost

Can we have a pic of what "chunky" legs look like these days?

I have chunky legs and I live in skirts and dresses. I tend to wear skirts then skim my hips then go out to balance my top half, and pretty much all my skirts and dresses are knee length because I much prefer my calfs to my thighs, they're quite chunky but muscular so theres some good definition and when im tanned and in wedges i dont think they look too bad

God I have this problem and I don't really know how to get rid of them and I'm a size 8 for god sake.
I think it's mostly because my legs are really white along with the fact they're quite chunky.. so it's not exactly a flattering look.

:yep:
Me too!

I wear skirts and dresses on nights out when i can wear tights and heels.
But in the day, in bright light, with flats, the paleness and freckliness and cankles cannot be disguised :frown:

Having to wear trousers in summer sucks, stuck with those lineny trouser things really, unless you wear jeans and sweat it out.

Yes.

I wear what makes me feel good.

Reply 11

Lol I think dresses and skirts make my legs look less chunky :p:

Reply 12

Yes! I have really big thighs and not great legs but I live in dresses; they are all I wear even in the winter (with tights obviously). I find my legs look worse in trousers but long flowing dresses are great! I just avoid mini skirts/really short dresses  Go girl lol xx

no more tights fr summmer ;(

Reply 14

I have triangle legs which I hate. Basically muscular thighs and small calves. Knee length dresses look alright but I will not go any shorter than that without feeling awkward.

Do you mean size 8 chunky legs, or size 16+ chunky legs?

Size 10-12 chunky legs, I'm not fat, it's just that my body is built with... well... chunky legs.:p: It's not that they're repulsive to look at, but they're just not attractive. A fashion magazine would advise me to conceal them in the 'accentuate your good points, cover up your bad points' spirit of things. But I like the feeling of dresses, they make me feel light and summer-y. I know I should just wear them. It's just... GAAAAAAAARRGGGHHH!!!! Why can't I have slim legs? Why????:woo: :p: :o:

Surely any size can have chunky legs if their legs are bigger/out of proportion compared to the rest of the body because of being short/fat/muscly/anything else that makes them look bigger on the legs. I'm a 12/14 trouser size and don't have chunky legs at all. My legs are long and perfectly in proportion with the rest of me.

A lot of girls who think they've got chunky thighs are a bit paranoid. They aren't that bad as long as they aren't overly flabby and wobbly. Loads of girls will be wearing dresses so you'll see all sorts of shapes. Be careful sitting down because chunkier thighs pull a skirt up higher = knickers showing.
