anyone have any idea which has better reputation/job prospects? thanks

I would say generally they are on a pretty even keel, but it may depend what subject you are going to study....do you have offers from both or are you in the early stages of the application process??!

Cardiff is a great place to live - and the nightlife is great (supposedly behind London more people go 'out on the town' in Cardiff than any other city in the UK). Transport to most places in the UK is really good aswell. I may be slightly bias in my view but I think it is one of the best cities to live in - not too big but big enough, probably cheaper to live in than Birmingham, and you get a bit of the Welsh culture too (if you go there you'll hopefully witness another Rugby Grand Slam by the Welsh team!!!!!!). The only reason why I'm going to Birmingham is that I didn't want to stay too close to home (and I liked the campus) thats the problem really with Cardiff uni - there is no campus, it is a city university.
Hope this helps you a little. If you have more questions (about Cardiff mainly - I'm not that much of an expert on Birmingham!) my MSN is [email protected]

I have to disgree with both of the above posts. I can't tell you which university actually has the better course, however in relation to your job prosopects, this is irrelevant. The important factor is its reputation with employers. In this respect, Birmingham is some way ahead, and therefore job prospects.
