It sounds okay to me, but the most important thing is the content- if you've managed to effectively introduce and conclude your essay without repetition and filler then that's more important

Thanks, the conclusion has been beefed up to around 400 words with the inclusion of some long words that sound good but probably bear little significance to what I am trying to say

That's the way to do it!

I have finished a 3000 word essay and my introduction is just under 400 words long with my conclusion being just over 300 words long.

Is this about right relative to the legnth of the essay?
Hey Mark, you need to get the attitude that a report or essay generally needs to look like an hourglass. That is, to have a nice, lengthy introduction and discussion, but keep the methods and results clear and to the point. Succint I believe the word is. Conclusion: usually to be placed strategically at the end of the discussion, and is generally one or two sentences long.

With your assignment, I think what you've done is good, although I can't judge because I haven't seen it, but perhaps you could increase the intro and reduce the conclusion a bit? Or would you say that the conclusion is also your discussion in which then you should increase both...

Anyway, meh - essays, sux hey :frown:

I've finished three (altho one was a report, but u kno the deal), and still one more to go... until the 27th of April

This is exactly how essays should be in psychology though if its a critical arguement then the intro should be the briefest with the oints discussed through the essay and with a conclusion reviewing the points and summing up your ideas.

We've always been told intro/conclusion shud be 10-15% of the whole thing, so what uve written sounds about right
