What's so bad about it?

Im hopefully going to Leeds, and i've been to visit a few times, it looks like theres plenty to do! there's many bars and stuff, and the Union looks AWESOME. I suppose if it doesn't live up to personal expectation then you'll be annyoed, but i think it has a great balance of both academia and things to do for students. So im going to say i disagree with you. As does my mate who goes there, he says it's a wicked night out.
You're an idiot. You most certainly haven't been everywhere so how can you tell?

you're doing it wrong.
It's like a mini-manchester. I like it.

there's loads of good stuff in leeds. The chain clubs like tiger tiger, oceana, bar risa get old really fast, but there are plenty of small bars and more exciting clubnights about. A good rule of thumb is, if you get spammed with messages about a clubnight, it will probably be ****.

better than manchester
You stupid in the face bruv?

The underground music scene in Leeds is probably, just about bettered by London and Manchester, and there's plenty to do at the Union and the chain places

Oh cool. That's one of the worst fears I've had about leaving Manchester for leeds - the nightlife here is awesome. I'm fond of Leeds as a city anyway but haven't really experienced the nightlife - just heard a lot of good stuff about it.

Its pretty similar, if anything, slightly cleaner. The original Birdcage is in Leeds, too!

I heard Leeds is one of the best cities for nightlife.
Manc is only a 40min journey away anyway if it is truly that bad.

I love Leeds for the variety - going proper clubbing, Oceana, Gatecrasher, Mez are all good for that (it's alright for me, not always my thing - Chilliwhites is ********)

But it's far better for bars/weird places: Faversham, Union clubs, Fab Cafe, Dry Dock, Library, Hifi, Carpe Diem, Revs etc.
Are you INSANE, OP!?! The nightlife in Leeds is fantastic! You've got the clubs that play the latest chart music like Oceana/Gatecrasher/Tiger Tiger/Space/Mission/Tequila, which are okay but I rarely go on them. Then you have the cheese nights like Fruity Friday at the union and Puro. So there's that.
Then you have all the indie clubs like Subculture, Cockpit, Wire.
There is a huge underground music scene too, mainly drum n bass, dubstep, house, breakbeat, electro... The Student Union holds big nights like Valve/Metropolis and Wax:On, and then you have nights like Insomnia at the O2 Academy, and then things like Subdub/Exodus at the Leeds West Indian Centre...and the famous Jagerbomb night at The Faversham is another of my favourite nights out.

And to top it off there are so many bars and pubs, so many that there is the famous Otley Run...

All in all, you'll find your musical niche. Leeds is great.
