I also got an offer so know too; I heard the neighbourhood could be a little rough. At goldsmiths website there is a virtual tour, it might not help allot but it’s something.

Is anyone there/looked around it? I haven't seen it yet, but i better make a decision soon. I was just wondering what the actual place is like?

That tour made my computer freeze up. Are you going to go there, hopefully?

I don't think there is any better way of judging the place than going down there yourself (if possible).

I went to one of their open days a while back and remember that the surrounding area wasn't very good. The transport links also aren't very good either! However, I'm sure the university itself isn't too bad and it would probably be unfair to judge the university as a whole by its surrounding area. I remember when inside it did seem quite busy but weren't too impressed with some of the department staff (but then I had applied for Computer Science - not one of Goldsmiths strong points).

Yeah, I got a conditional offer that was turned into an unconditional offer one day ago. I applied for psychology. I have a bit of a problem going there because I live in a completely different country (Sweden).

Are you going to apply for halls of resident?

So if we both go there, we'll be together, both doing Psychology and all. I will be going to halls i think.

i think goldsmiths good, their psychology got 22/24 in one test and 4/5* in another. and on the degree it will in big print say University of London
and it seems to be a cool place too!

i wonder how hard it will be to study?

The only thing i don't like is that it isn't so central.

Reply 11

true, but still only 15- 20 min from central so it isn´t that bad.

i´m relly looking forward to it.

evilheat: sometimes goldsmiths take a long time before they answer, it does´t mean anything. if you relly want to know then call them, hope you make it!

Hehe yeah I know they take forever... the reason it's taking so long for me is because the media tutor is on "extended holiday" until April 28 .

what kind of hall do you think is best if you want a good hall life? standard or en suite?

That totally depends on whether you like sharing a bathroom with other people of either sex. I've put down that i want en-suite as i'd like to have my own shower, etc. Some of the halls come in flats and some are corridor, but you don't get to choose between those. It's the people you are with that are going to determine your "hall life", not so much the bathrooms, etc.

Got to send my accommodation application off tomorrow.
