Losing weight!

Hey

Now this is just a general question so before some of you that have met me or know me accuse me of being stupid and not needing to loose weight there is no need lol! Anyway, is it possible to loose a stone in a month and keep this up for three months (in other words loose three stone in just over three months)? Thanks guys

yeh its possible, 3lbs a week (which is a safe amount to lose per week)

edit: will be much harder to lose weight after a couple of moths

not healthily i wouldn't think... rapid weight loss is not good for your body. (but it may be possible on something like atkins)

probably not, though it depends on how much you weigh, so how much of a calorie deficit you can work at.

just run, run, and run.

I know it's rude to ask a lady, but it all depends on how much you weigh. Therefor, I won't ask.

Your best bet is to go on the atkins diet, with small amounts of exercise every day. Only drink water, no alcohol, fizzy drinks or nout.

It'll be hard, but you can do it if you put your mind to it. :smile:

Don't do the Atkins Diet. I can't think of anything worse for your health. The best advice is to cut out all processed, refined, hydrogenated foods; eat only fresh fruit and vegetables, nuts, pulses, grains, lean meat once in a while (things like liver are good), fish, and so on; and drink nothing but water, or fruit juice once in a while.

I don't really know what BMI means. :redface:

If your BMI is 20.5 you shouldn't need to lose weight. I thought it's only a problem if it's under 20 or over 25.

It's probably the most unhealthy diet there is; and of course you have to stick with it to keep the weight off.

According to my BMI, i am at the lower end of my healthy weight and should't try to loose any weight but yeah, it's an odd system. BMI's of over 25 classes you as overweight, 30 obese and 20 underweight i think....

Knock the weight off, and with a healthy diet, and exercise you can keep it off. It's not as bad as alot say.

Atkins sucks ass. WEll...it might work for some people but i hated it. I was about 100 pounds(umm i think thats...around 48 kilos i guess?) for the couple weeks i was on it...but in the end I went the to bakery and bought a crapload of bread and binged cause for weeks I was going without carbohydrates and the cravings got too much for me to handle. Plus, im really active...and I noticed on Atkins i NEVER had energy...

I was so fed up of just eating mostly eggs and meat.I think a good diet involves a little bit of everything and loads of fruits and vegetables. Plus the rapid weight loss that happened to me on ATkins kinda scared me. I manage to stay a good weight just eating what i mentioned before and staying active.

that was when i was ON ATKINS. now that im off it...im about 50-52. yea.

wouldnt mind being 48 again though.... :frown:

However, it beat another diet where all she could eat were these nutrition bars. She actually stopped cooking for us because she couldn't bear being anywhere near food. Now why the hell would someone want to do something like that to themselves?!?

Ewww...beef jerky is absolutely revolting. No one really eats it here, but we found some in a shop near us and bought it and EUGH!!!! How the hell do you guys eat that stuff?!? Its just, disgusting. And if you pull it apart it looks hairy, is what we discoverd. I'd rather have licked my own testicles (and if I could actually do that I'd be a much happier man today :rolleyes: ).

Oh, and i have no idea whether I eat wholemeal or not. Sounds like a whole loada hippy cr*p to me - and if you think you're feedin me that cr*p you got another thing comin. Are Pot Noodles wholemeal?? Actually, do Pot Noodles have anything that was not created in a lab in it??.

To stay on topic..i just want to stay...

one good way to lose weight is to cut out empty calories

like, kingslaw drinks lots of Diet Coke, but if he replaced that with water he would be doing his body a favor(and his whole life would come crashing down without his regular caffeine fix :rolleyes: )

Think of certain things you drink. One of the big things that people don't notice is fruit juice...its FULL of sugar. People have been taught to think things like Orange juice are healthy...when in fact..u'd be much better off actually EATING the orange.

Hey, what i just said isnt a load of hippy crap. Organic food is extremely good for you. And since im a freaking amazing cook, it tastes good too :biggrin: :p:

yes, beef jerky is nasty. me and my friends used to steal my dads beef jerky and feed it...
