Do you still suck your thumb?

ok i have a question... it might sound a little odd but here goes....

does any one else on here still suck there thumb or have a blanket or any other such tendancy and do people think that it is weird if you do over a certain age??

Yes it is weird above the age of 3 lol, but it's fine as long as you don't do it in public!

when I am nervous

I don't suck on my thumb, however, I do suck on my tongue and have done since I was a baby. It gets a few 'WTF's?!' and a few laughs, but I can't stop it.

I do, when I'm stressed or concentrating. Unfortunately this has led to the formation of a rather grotesque looking callous so I'm trying to refrain from doing it.

Yep im like addicted to it. I get the same relief you get from a cigarette. Dont really consider it a problem but sure as hell wouldnt tell anyone or do it in public.

I used to suck my thumb until i 'lost' my blanket (mum actually binned it :frown:

) and then I just stopped as I got upset everytime I did it.

Not full on thumb sucking.

I put my thumb just past my lips and sort of, gently bite it, release, bite, release etc. my lips are closed around my thumb too (I only do it when I'm nervous/scared/upset)

edit: just re-read the post and realised how abnormal this sounds :p:

Nah, I never did but I have an 18 year old friend who does, and my brother's girlfriend who's... 19 does also. Crazy people.

I stopped sucking my thumb when i was in yr11 :P...im 18 now loool...but now i have this weird habit of chewing the side of my mouth ahhh

Yeah, when I'm really stressed (recently has been a lot and have been sucking it to get to sleep) - The feeling is amazing, I can actually feel the relief/destress sweep over me :o:
