    Hi people
Just posting this thread to say that I am really upset by the quantity of Christmas Decorations in shops at the moment. Its commercialism at its worst. There's way too much way too early and it seems that nobody can be bothered to do anything about it. (please correct me if i'm wrong)

All I was wondering is does anybody feel the same? And also what is being done/can be done about it?

I feel the same every year, maybe I'm sort of miserable scrooge or something, but I don't really get into the christmas 'spirit' until a week or two before christmas...

I totally agree...I think the earliest that christmas decorations should be put up is two weeks before christmas.

You should see my parents house, they have it covered in decorations already - inside and out - it's like santa's grotto lol

It really takes the meaning out of christmas (e.g. Christ's birth and stuff) which is what i believe in...

Good for you, beliefs are what make you, you. Without them the world would be boring, however, I think it's just a time for bringing people together even if that involves comercialisation.

Nah its depressing that everything is out in the shops so early, all the kids are like "I WANT THIS" and "I WANT THAT"

i like the whole feel of christmas when it finally arrives, even the sound of church songs being sung when u go past, even though i'm not religious it still makes me feel christmasy. and mince pies....

oh and the bloody film repeats, is it jurassic park again?!!

It does get annoying. Work Saturday's at local B&Q and there they were prepared for Xmas by late October. It does get annoying listening to Walking in A frigging Wonderland for nearly 7 hours lol.

One the one hand I don't mind the shops having all of their mechandise with some sort of christmassy theme because nobody likes to have to do all their christmas shopping on Christmas Eve.
One the other hand, seeing shopping centres and whatnot putting up christmas decorations ALREADY....now that IS just depressing .
