QMUL Foundation year.

Do you think its better to take a foundation year at Queen Mary for science and engineering and then move onto Biomedical science

Or go to somewhere like Brunel and Hertforshire to do the same course...

Prospect wise, student life and reputation being some factors ive been looking at..

Any suggestions?

Yes, QMUL is more prestigious than Hertfordshire or Brunel, however, that's not all there is to life. If you can't be arsed for an extra years studying don't do a foundation year. If you think it's a worthwhile investment, do it.

I wouldn't mind taking an extra year IF it will be making a big difference...

Do you think it will be worthwhile taking an extra year will benefit me career wise when i complete my undergraduate degree compared to these other unis? because Biomed is such a competitive career and alot of people end up with no jobs..(well atleast thats what ive heard)

I would do the foundation degree because QMUL is a nice uni with great facilities in Central London. I would hate to be in the middle of Hertfordshire or in Uxbridge, and the uni's location makes a big difference to me, so yeah I would do the foundation.

If you don't care about any of that though and you just want to go to any uni, I wouldn't bother with the foundation, unless you particularly like QMUL over the other two. But in terms of jobs you can still apply to graduate entry medicine, or work in medical research with a Brunel degree.

If thats the case then im going to have to go towards Brunel.. Going to do a bit more research on it but Uni surroundings isnt really a big deal for me, especially in Uxbridge where its easy to get into C. London. Anyway thanks for the advice!
