Hi, I am doing my History Coursework on 'why Gladstone failed to solve the Irish Q'. Without wanting to make it descriptive, can anybody highlight some interpretations on this subject?

Fenians, IRB, disraeli doing nothing in Ireland during his term in office, Phoenix Park Murders, different groups in ireland wanted different measures, Ineffective/Unpopular reforms early on, "the Irish kept changing the question".

I can't think of much else off hand...
