Miss Selfridge Sizing?

Does anyone know what the sizes are like at Miss Selfridge compared to other places?

I'm new to shopping for clothes online. I usually like to try things on...

Their sizes are really weird. When I were a size 6 I brought this jacket which was really really big for me. It fitted my friend who was a size 12.
Recently I brought a jacket from there which I brought in a size 8. That same friend of mine brought the jacket too but even though she's usually a size 12 she had to buy a size 16. I'd rather just go in the shop and try on the clothes before I buy.

Ditto Sakura-Chan. I can easily get into the Petite ranges, despite being 5'6, but generally the sizings match the sizes I am in most other shops. They also always have enough of the smaller sizes, unlike Topshop which often sells out of 6s/8s/10s etc. I love Miss Selfridge :smile:

I recently bought 3 dress/tops 1 from new look one from river island and one from Bay all in 12s. The thing I find with the new look one is it's a wee bit big and I think it makes me look fat but the bay one is a wee bit tight around my belly =/

may have something to do with the cut/ style of the dresses and the material as well. Though I do find that new look is quite generous with sizing.

but in saying that i bought a hoodie from there in a 14 so that it ws big on me and it's actually not but the one I got from tesco in a 14 is nice and baggy

Hello, I have brought a Petites Selfridges dress in a size 10 from Vinted, I've tried it on & even though it fits, (it's not a tight uncomfortable fit) it fits like very form snug, which dresses I usually buy in a size 10 at the most from retailers like Quiz Clothing don't fit like that. So, I'm wondering if dresses from Selfridges Petites are supposed to fit like that of if they are supposed to fit like a size 10 is supposed to comfortably?? 🤔
I am thinking of asking the seller if I can return it because of this.
Any replies recieved would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
